Silent Reading: 12/17

Today, I continued reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. In this section, it mostly mentioneed the unsuccessfulmess of Howard Roark's job with Henry Cameron due to society's backward expectation for architectural design. This got to the point that Howard friend, Peter Keating actually offered him $50 for rent which he at first accepted but then rejected. Later it spoke of the sucess of Ellsworth M Toohey's Sermons in Stone, which described Architects as servants, not leaders.

Silent Reading: 12-10

Today, I continued my reading of The Once and Future King by T.H. White. In this part of the second section, King Pellinore, Sir Grummore and Sir Palomides are guests in Queen Morgause's castle. Two of the company are dtermined to help the King find the Questing Beast which he has been in pursuit of for 18 years. HOw ever, the King himself is lovesick, longing for the daughter of the Queen of Flanders who he meant and fell in love with and had to leave during his quest. Meanwhile, Sir Grummore and Sir Palomides have devised a costume that looks like the Questing Beast in order to attract "her" and now they are about to approach the area of the Beast.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome
them?/How did you overcome them?

I faced the problem of balancing my final step in chapter 5 with a mad lib application Ihave to do by Friday. I believe I should the second of three parts in Step 7 first before my mad lib application but I dont know how much credit I will get for it if I turn it in now. So I choose just to layout the format for the code first and then postpone the madl lib appication to thursday and friday.

Today, I continued my outside reading of "The Once and Future King" by T.H. White. Byt this time, Arthur is still being called the Wart and just recently Master Art. He resides in the feudal manor of a knight called Sir Ector along with his older (and possibly half) brother, Kay. He went out falconing Kay and kay lost his falconry teacher's favorite falcon, a goshawk named Cully. Kay refuses to take responsobility but the Wart goes into the forest after Cully and eventually gets lost. He finds a knight named King Pellinore who is questing after a Beast and then has to leave. Thereafter the Wart meets Merlyn, the magician who introduces him to a many animals in his cottage in the woods. Merlyn feeds the Wart and has his owl, Archimedes, find Cully and returns him home to Sir Ector. In addition. Merlyn offers to be Kay and the Wart's tutor which ASir Ector accpets.

4. Are there any specific tips you would give to someone else tackling the same problem? How would
what you suggest benefit that person in solving the problem?

Today, I finally got to the code for the dice game. I would recommend thath for someone in my position, they focus on the code first. Then they can decorate the app with custom icons. I did the reverse and I reall y need to finish the code now. Now I can only hope that I can get the help to finsh the code.

2. What choices did you face in developing your solution, and how did you choose among them?

Today, I faced the choice of either starting on my programs for step 7 of starting the dice game application which is due tomorrow. I chose the latter and tried to do the bonus points as well by creating my own dice on the program, Macromedia Fireworks. However, I have yet to start the code for the first programming problem on Step 7. I overviewed the first and it seems that it is only a If.. Then exercise which involves passwords and usernames so that sohuld not take to much time. I need to move on with alot at home.
